The Battalion of Wynberg held their last parade at URC Retreat in Sunday, 31 August 2014. Companies of Steenberg, Noordhoek, Slot and CLB of Simon of Cyrene joined Retreat. Approximately 200 cadets and 20 officers marched through the streets of Steenberg. Members of the congregation were treated to a preview of the Brigade competition which is to take place on 11October 2014.

Eerw. P.W.J. van Zyl, hulpprediker te Wynberg, met Eerw. J.P. de Villiers van Woodstock as konsulent, is deur die kerkraad van Wynberg versoek om vanaf 1 Junie 1905 Retreat afsonderlik te bearbei.
Die Gemeente Retreat hou toesig oor 2 kerkskole byname Hoofweg (Tokai) en Blouvlei (Retreat). Hierdie arbeidsboorde het vele vrugte gelewer.
Op 7 November 1905 is die NGSK Gemeente Retreat met 180 lidmate, in die skoolgebou langs die Hoofweg te Tokai gestig.
